For a complete understanding of how our Italian partner produces these luxury items according to the extremely demanding “a regola d’arte” standards (following the rules of the art, literally), see our blog post detailing this classical furniture producer’s extraordinary human and corporate history and discover his time-proven production methods, essential in the production of true luxury furniture.
One method in particular, the “lost-wax” method, illustrates perfectly the care and attention that is taken in every detail of the production of one of these classical furniture pieces. Each handle, for example, will be first sculpted our of wax, reproducing the most intricate details. The wax sculpture is then carefully covered in a tight mould before pouring molten bronze or brass into this mould. The wax will evaporate and leave place to the molten metal which will then solidify and replace the intricate details with beautiful precious metal accents. Only true luxury furniture items can be produced in such a way, industrial scaled production is totally incompatible with these ancient and time-proven techniques used in the production of furniture fit for royalty.
This collection of timeless furniture spans across different periods of Europe’s cultural heritage, from the famous French kings’ Louis periods (“Régence” or Regency, Louis XIV, Louis XV and Louis XVI) to the Empire (Napoleon) to the English Chippendale period as well as visiting the Art-Deco period of a more recent past.
